Sharon has over 20 years of experience in psychological counselling with a diverse skill set and qualifications. She has part-taken in both research activities and psychological counselling (for individuals and groups).
Sharryn has worked as the principal psychologist of the Northern Aged Psychiatry Assessment and Treatment team, Senior Psychologist for the Neurological and Musculoskeletal Community Rehabilitation Service and in Pain Management Programs. Aside from being a part of our team, she is currently also a part of a public specialist pain clinic as a Senior Counselling Psychologist, where she works in various group programs and works individually with clients suffering from chronic pain and other trauma related issues.
She has extensive experience dealing with chronic pain, trauma, anxiety, depression, and stress management through the use of an array of techniques including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness training. She also conducts supervision of other psychologists.
